Dear lovely readers,

I have some very exciting news to share with you. About a month ago I mentioned on The Big To Do List Facebook page that I had signed a contract for this blog. Well, it took a little longer than expected to get everything up and running properly, but here we are. Now that everything is finally in place, I can officially share the big news with you.

When I first started this blog, I hoped to build it up to one day join a network that would help me reach a broader audience and create a bit more of an income from my little piece of the web. If you’re curious about why it might be beneficial to be part of a network, this post by Julie Nowell has some great information. (If you’re interested in getting to know more about how to start and run a blog of your own, I suggest you take a look at her many informative posts and subscribe to her blog, Three Chickens and a Boat.)

Actually, while we’re on the subject, Julie is the clever and ambitious woman who originally introduced me to the world of blogging. Without her friendly introduction, encouragement, guidance and support, I know there is no way I would be here today. So thank you, Julie. You truly are a phenomenal woman.

Back to the big news.

After doing a bit of looking around, I set my intentions on bringing in enough of an audience to be able to apply to join the Savvy Mom Collective. If you haven’t found yourself there before, SavvyMom.ca is a Canadian website that connects successful blogs with readers who are interested in the advice, ideas and musings of other mothers and caregivers who want to share. While I was waiting to fit the criteria required to join, I was able to contribute my blog posts to Savvy Stories, which helped me on my way to reaching my goal.

Now, with great excitement, I can finally announce that The Big To Do List has been signed on as a part of the Savvy Mom Collective. If you scroll your way down to the bottom of my site, you will see the Savvy Mom Collective logo, which you can click through to find out more about the collective and the benefits of becoming a part of this network.

(Not to toot my own horn, but I know virtually nothing about code and website design, and I figured out how to build and insert a code to display the logo in the appropriate space on my site, centre it, and turn it into a clickable link to where it needed to direct. All on a page of seemingly nonsensical number, letters and characters. Feeling particularly proud of myself in that one. Ah, the things I’ve learned through all this.)

So a big thank you to YOU. It’s because of you, reading this page and every page you ever happen upon on my blog, that my intentions were able to be met. Thank you for every view, every like, every share, every comment. Thank you for every positive word and helpful advice.

Thank you for being a part of my journey, and letting me be a part of yours.

Thanks, Ash! Website code is such a foreign language to me. Luckily I haven’t messed up anything that couldn’t be fixed… yet.
