It’s amazing to think that 2017 is almost finished! Or that Christmas is almost here. I might want to buy a gift or two at some point, so perhaps I should start thinking about it. (A smart blogger would have done some sort of Gift Guide months ago, but hey. Life.) In any case, let me get to the point of this post. Here are my photography favourites from last month, November 2017. I didn’t include any from my most recent photography session with an awesome little family here, but feel free to go take a peek at my favourites from that shoot on my Hannah Spray Photography Facebook page. You can also check out my photography section of this site here if you want to see more of my best photos for sale (one day I’ll update with more of my current works) or if you’re interested in booking a photo session on Salt Spring Island with me.
I celebrated my 30th birthday in November. (You can read this post about 30 things I learned in 30 years, if you’re interested.) For a birthday gift, my husband surprised me with a fish eye lens for the camera – something I’ve been wanting for a long time. It is SO much fun to play with, I can’t even. Unfortunately, I haven’t had much of a chance to use it after our initial outing, but we’ll get there. Life is full and photography, while it’s currently my absolute favourite thing to immerse myself in, is still below a lot of prioritized activities that must come first.
Now, I have included a lot of fish-eye shots from our adventure (they pretty much make up most of this post), but trust me, there are many, many more that I didn’t include, but still like. Too many great choices!
This girl decided she wanted to be a goat on our forest portion of the hike, so things got pretty slow and low for a while. Goats walk on four legs, don’t you know.
Who needs a playground when you have a forest?
Trying out a neat fish-eye lens technique to create radial blur. I had fun messing with it, and I think you could get some really neat shots with a bit of practice.
Z’s last class of gymnastics this semester fell on her birthday, so it was double awesome and she pulled out all her tricks. I ran and grabbed the camera for it, and yes, these are blurry, but hey. I still love them.
For her birthday dinner, Z decided she wanted to make quesadillas at our house. She also wanted to invite Gramma and Grampa over. Grampa helped her build her first Lego kit, and Gramma decorated cupcakes with her.
Happy 4th birthday, my little love! It’s going to be an awesome year!
