Springing into Summer – Honibe Gummies

honibe gummies giveaway

honibe gummies giveawaySpring has officially sprung on our little island of Salt Spring. Actually, it seemed like the Spring arrived sometime in mid-February, with warm weather, blue skies and flowers popping up everywhere. This has given me some time to get re-acquainted with Spring’s not-so-welcome tagalongs, Mr. Hayfever and his ruthless sister, The Spring Cold (actually, in Toddlerland, it’s more like the all-season cold).

Sneezing, coughing, and wishing they made a back-scratcher for the inside of my head, I did what I could to help my little one through the various sicknesses that seem to pop up in the Spring, when the weather is nice enough for so many of us to be called out of our winter burrows and start socializing again.

Last week I suffered a major migraine, which I’ve been prone to for a lot of years. This time was different, though, being the first time I’ve been puke-your-guts-out-sick since having the wee one around. Let me tell you, it is NO fun feeling under the weather while a very active and demanding toddler is running around, needing to be fed, begging for interaction and trying to simultaneously get in the porcelain pot and brush Mommy’s hair with the toilet brush. All while I’m heaving my guts and trying to stave off the little “helper” with one hand.

Being sick with a little one is not something I want to repeat, but I have to admit I haven’t been taking care of myself the way I should be. Even just being worn down and lacking energy puts a damper on our time together. It seems I’m not the only mama around who is struggling to provide nutritious meals and snacks for her brood, and puts her own nourishment on the back burner. This isn’t really a great compromise, since we need to stay healthy to do our best by our little ones. Remember how, when you board an airplane, you’re instructed to put your own oxygen mask on before you attempt to put your children’s in place? The same goes for our health and energy levels, too.

As my good friend Kate from Venison for Dinner says (I may have been whining to her last week), “If mama’s sick, ain’t nobody happy.”

So it’s time to start getting serious about daily routines, not only to keep illness at bay, but to help me spring into the new season with a generous amount health and pep. In doing so, I remember to think back to these 5 simple ways to live healthier Drink water, play music, actively watch, make cuts (specifically to sugar), and play. In addition to these habits, I know there is something else I can be doing, that I believe will help to keep my body working in tip-top shape to let us get the most out of this warmer, sunnier, happier weather and those summer days that are fast approaching. I need to get back in the daily routine of taking a multivitamin.

I recently discovered a company called Honibe, whose goal seems to be to provide products to support your health using the power of natural honey. Honey is a natural sugar that has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It is used by holistic practitioners as remedy for many issues, and is a pure source for energy. With all the benefits that honey holds, it’s no wonder that Honibe has built a business around it.

The multivitamins I’ve been trying are Honibe’s Complete Honey Gummies. Yes, you read that right. Gummies. For adults. I have to admit that getting into a routine of popping a vitamin pill every day has been really hard for me to remember. But, with my incredible sweet tooth and yearning for anything of the candy variety, it has been a lot easier to remember and be motivated to chow down what looks and tastes like candy every day. Think about it. “Oh dear, I guess it’s time to eat this DELICIOUS GUMMY.” Who can refuse gummies? Who, I ask you?!

These little lumps are tasty, and the main reason behind that is the honey that is used as a first ingredient, instead of the refined sugar you might find in other gummies. The flavours are natural, and instead of using sugar or preservative powder to coat the outside of the gummies, beeswax is used. That’s why you might notice that the gummies stick together a bit more than other brands. I’m totally down with a slightly sticky gummy if it means less sugar and no preservatives.

The last awesome thing I’ll mention about Honibe is that they are actively involved in spreading information about the declining honeybee population. If we don’t know, we don’t do anything. Awareness is the first step to solving a lot of the Earth’s problems. You can check out this page on the Honibe website to see what you can learn and do to help out our insect friends who are so essential to the livelihood of plants, which in turn affects our human livelihood as well.

If you’re keen on trying these Honibe products for yourself, you can take a look at what they offer on their website, but because you read about it here, you can enter to win a year’s supply of Honibe Honey Gummies! Just pop some information into the Rafflecopter form below and cross your fingers.

Here’s to a fresh start for Spring, and may you all be blessed with a little more pep in your step!

Very important! I try to eat well, but I believe that it’s pretty hard to get all the vitamins I need from my food (because of things like our soil lacking nutrients). I take a multi-vitamin every single day, for sure!

Today looks like more rain. Started my day out, with raisin Bran & vitamins. I also have been using honey in our PB energy bites. My mother has always said, Honey was so good for us!

They’re very important to me…I do eat healthy but after a lifetime of not eating the best, I’m not making sure I do whatever I can to heal my body and keep it strong

For me they are a very important part of our daily routine. We each take a vitamin every morning with our breakfast, and although we eat healthy I think it is a great step just in case we are lacking in a completely balanced meal at some point in the day.

We take daily vitamins in my family although I have never tried this particular brand before. I like the idea that if I’m missing something from diet, it can help by taking a vitamin.
