Over the last month we’ve been enjoying a listening to music from a new-to-us kids’ musician, Will Stroet. The music from all of the four albums we’ve been popping in the CD player have struck a chord with myself and my so-close-to-4-year-old. In fact, you should probably check out some of her sweet dance moves when listening to Will Stroet’s music for the first time.
While I really enjoyed all the different tunes and ideas behind the various songs, I think my favourites would have to tie between Ella’s Umbrella (from the Just Imagine album) and Boris Thesaurus Tyrannosaurus (from the Wordplay album, which appeals to my punny sense of humour). The other albums I haven’t mentioned yet – My Backyard and Walk ‘n’ Roll – are chalk full of awesome songs as well. We’ve been listening to all four discs at home, in the truck, and at preschool, and they’re sure to inspire dance parties and enthusiastic sing-alongs.
Lucky for all of us parents with youngsters, who like to enjoy family-friendly music together with our little loved ones, Will Stroet is on tour right now. For those of you in and around Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, you can catch his Holiday Show at Lynne Valley Centre tomorrow (Friday, November 24th) and his Mulitimedia Show in Vancouver on Sunday, November 26th. You can check out the Will Stroet list of tour dates here.
Whether you’re close enough to attend one of Will’s live events, or reading this from another country or a remote location, I highly recommend you have a listen to this children’s musician who has a talent of introducing children and their families to a wide variety of sounds and subjects that get your body moving and your voice singing.
Disclosure: This post can be considered sponsored by Will Stroet of Will Stroet’s Jams, as I have received a lovely merchandise pack of stickers, temporary tattoos, a child-sized t-shirt, and the four CD albums I mentioned above. As always, I only share with you what I believe will be valuable and worthwhile to my readers. All the above thoughts and experiences are mine. You can read my full disclosure statement here.
