What happened around here this week? I’m glad you asked.
Sun is shining, the weather is sweet. Makes me want to move my dancing feet. I cannot get enough of this weather, with the Autumn sunshine lighting up the blue skies and colourful leaf displays, and making the lakes and ocean sparkle. Gorgeous! What more can I say?
I can’t help myself! So in love with what I’m wearing today! This blue colour is just so stunning! @ungalliclothing pic.twitter.com/AHWunX0P2t — Hannah Spray (@TheBigToDoList) September 26, 2015
This week I received a delightful package of new threads to add to my wardrobe, replacing the many, many, many items I removed in my KonMari method project that no longer sparked joy in me. I love everything about the new threads, and the ethical company from whence they came, and have been feeling oh-so thankful for having made the connections I’ve made in this blogging journey to be given such fantastic opportunities to try out and share about the things I feel passionate about. A huge shout-out to Sara at Green Moms Collective, where my review post on these styles from Ungalli Clothing Co. was posted, for welcoming me in to her green-living blogger world!
If you missed all the hoards of posts about the super, blood-moon eclipse that happened on Monday (Was it Monday? the days are blurring a bit for me…), you may be living under a rock. Finding out about it mere minutes before all the magic started happening, we packed up our little monkey and headed to watch it all go down at the marina. Super, bloody cool! Dear Old Hubby G took some photos with his fancy camera, and I took one with my cell phone and gave up on that idea since iPhone cameras only seem to work well if there is an abundance of light. Little Miss Ziggity seemed to enjoy the chance to stay up late, visiting the marina and finally getting a glimpse of the Moon – something she’s been very eagerly searching for in the sky daily, lately. I’m not sure about elsewhere, but here on Salt Spring there was a lot of howling at the moon going on, so that added to the ambiance of our moonlit evening. Looking through the photos later, Z remembered the new noises and tried out some howling at the moon for herself.

It’s not often that G and I take off by ourselves to enjoy some time as the adorable couple that we are. Since it was the last day to catch a cod in our waters, my fish-fanatic hubby made plans to head out for an evening fish after work. I had a lot to do, so was originally going to drop the wee one off at Gramma’s for him to pick up on his way home, but made a last-minute decision to leave the housework and KonMari-ing in favour of some alone time out on the beautiful ocean with my man. It was a fantastic choice.
Free signs are slung around our little island home like food-photographs and $1000 ugly shoes at a hipster restaurant. They are everywhere.
This week my bargain-hunting hubby procured some fabulous finds from the end of a driveway: a little play house and car for Ziggity. To say Z was excited about the new finds when she spotted them as we loaded up into the truck for a morning at ELF would be an extreme understatement. The look on that little girl’s face as she checked out her new digs and her fab new vehicle were just too good. We got to enjoy them for a while before we needed to head out to Gramma’s place, and convincing her to leave them was tricky. I eventually said “Okay, well, I’m going to Gramma’s house” and started walking away, to which she responded by closing her new front door and sending me off with a wave and a “Bubye!”. Darn.
What did your week look like?

Gorgeous Pictures! I agree sometimes the KonMari can wait. I also love little churches and how picturesque they can be. Happy Friday!
My mom would always stop us at little churches during road trips. She loved them.
Sounds like a great week to me!!
That it was, Alison!
Lovely photo of the church, and I agree spending time with your man was a great choice!
Thank you! And yes, it was well worth putting off housekeeping!
Ohhhh, my daughter would die from excitement to get one of those play houses! That’s so great you found one!
Ya!! You can’t beat free stuff! Most if my daughter’s things have been passed on from previous owners. Love it!
