Okay, now if this isn’t the cutest knit hat you’ve ever seen!
I started knitting this little bluebird hat for my new niece early on in the year, and realized it was going to be far too big for a baby (as per usual, I looked at the knitting pattern/recipe and did some “tweaking” I figured would be helpful). So, instead of finishing the first one, I left it nearly done and knitted up a second, smaller one until it was close to being complete, then I did what I usually do – put my not-quite-finished projects aside and started other things. It’s a terrible habit I’m trying to break, and in favour of simplifying and decluttering, I am trying to focus on completing these types of projects.
So, I got to work and quickly finished up both hats, sending one away to my niece and giving the other to Ziggity.
I’m so glad I made the first too big. It’s adorable!
Want to make your own? Go get the knitting pattern yourself from the same amazing place where this equally adorable little yoda-esque hat came from. Don’t be intimidated! These hats are actually far easier than I first thought.
If you give it a shot, please let me know in the comments how it went for you, and what needle size you used (the patterns call for a smaller needle than I used, which is apparently not a mistake, but I still find the recommended sizes too small). Pictures encouraged!
