Easter, Fairies, and Salt Spring Island Adventures – Friday Five

I simply have not been able to keep up with my commitment to sharing five of our favourite memories each Friday since taking Julie’s course and really getting a handle on how to run my blog as a business. I’ve been receiving quite a bit of work, and now I’m trying to learn how to balance everything again. It’s great to have the work, and opportunities to make money as a stay-at-home-mom, but I’m also learning that there are some things I love to do and can make money at, and others that I can make money at, but don’t love. I’m starting to cut back on my work load to come back to a sense of balance and truly enjoying what I do. So, while I continue to figure this balance out, allow me to share with you come catching up on my favourite five memories of fun and adventures, on and off Salt Spring Island, since my last Friday Five post two weeks ago.

I will warn you, this post is heavy on the photos, and light on the text. Only the Instagram photos have been edited. The rest are raw, and as always, all photos are taken by myself or my husband. Also, if you happen to have the secret to centering embedded Instagram photos, I would love, love, love to know how! I’ve been searching everywhere and driving myself crazy, but it’s still a mystery. Sigh.

Dying Easter Eggs

Z was thrilled with her first Easter egg dying experience. We hardboiled the eggs before we dyed them (with food-safe dye), so we could bring them as quick and beautiful snacks to the cabin.

Easter at The Cabin

So, I was only going to include one of two photos here, but I just couldn’t choose, so I created a gallery for our Easter Cabin Trip here. You can click on the individual photos to see them in their entirety. Isn’t the Sunshine Coast fabulous?!

Fairy Fun

Library Fairy
We tagged along to help Gramma share her book with the Spring Break Kids Book Camp at the Salt Spring Island public library. Since the book is a fairy tale story, we dressed Z up as a little fairy to go with the theme.

We spent a morning on the beach near Ganges with our buddies last weekend. It was beautiful! Loving all this warm, sunny weather we’ve been having!

Hiking in the Salt Spring Island Nature Conservancy

We got out and went a-hiking last weekend up at the Salt Spring Island Nature Conservancy. It was amazing to me that little Z walked the entire length of the loop (about 2k) on her own two feet! I’d like to dedicate a full post to this, but for now, enjoy some pictures (and one cute video).
