I’ve always had a thing for photography. Lately I’ve been thinking about trying out a Project 365 thingy (you know, when you take pictures and post one every day for a year), but I’m hesitant to commit. I’ve actually been taking out my camera and snapping shots nearly daily since this realization, so I don’t think it would be that big of a stretch to take the pictures for a year. However, when it comes to plugging the card into the lap top and getting the pictures off the camera to share it can take me days. So, while I’m pulling myself together to see if I’ll actually try this specific photography challenge, I thought I might pick my 10 favourite photos every month and share them here. Since all my favourites get posted onto Instagram anyways, I’ll just share them straight from there. This also gives one less chance for someone to try to yank my photos to use on their posts, so bonus!
Without further ado, I present to you my personal top 10 favourite photos taken by me over the last month.
These first three are some shots from a beautiful day at the beach, which I mentioned in this piece on the five favourite memories of the week.
A beautiful walk at the Salt Spring Island Nature Conservancy. Just one of the amazing things to do with kids on Salt Spring Island.
Chicken nuggets: One of my toddlers main food sources. Yep. Said I’d never be that parent. Turns out I am.
We were invited to spend a morning playing in some friends’ bluebell patch. I snapped some photos and was inspired to write this piece on slowing down and getting outside with kids.
We’re very lucky to be able to visit the fairy home tour grounds on Salt Spring Island often. Z loves to peek inside all of the little doors.
I think it’s a violet? This one I shared on my alternate Instagram account, @bestofsaltspring. You guessed it – I share my favourite personal photography from Salt Spring Island there.
My baby’s been enjoying bouncing her own baby in her mini Ergo carrier that she got for Christmas. Here we were, walking around the neighborhood, blowing seeds off dandelion puffs, and I had to get this shot. Sure, it’s shot on my phone, but I love it all the same.
Getting messy and creative with some finger painting. Childhood at it’s finest.
Do you like photography as a hobby? Or a profession? Maybe you’re working on a 365 project yourself, and have some motivation to offer me to commit to trying it myself. Comment below or connect with me on Facebook or Twitter. You can also head to my Instagram feed and follow me to see more of the photos I post there. It’s my favourite platform and I love to see what other people are putting up.
Until next time…

Beautiful! I love taking photos but have been reluctant to commit to a 365 project for the same reasons. I love this idea!
Very beautiful photos!
Thank you! 🙂 They make me happy!
